Superhero's

Wanna be just like them?
I have recently seen "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Avengers" two times not for the thrill of it but because of the powerful meaning behind the characters. The picture I have above are that of my favorite two Superhero's "Iron Man" & "Batman" both have similarities in nature but also good contrasts. I won't compare and contrast in this blog article but I will mention a few here and there.
You have wealth in both cases of these hero's and don't really care they have "money to blow". Even though one is self-absorbed aka Tony Stark but yet, both think of the other people on the earth. They want to save others even if it comes at the cost of losing their lives to achieve such a goal. Bruce Wayne exemplifies this in the last installment of the "Nolan Trilogy". He always has felt the need to protect Gotham from itself. In "Rises" he realizes it's better to have lost and have that feeling of now knowing things can still be lost which helps motivate him more. He uses to just relay on his anger to defeat the "bad guys".  Now with that improvement he is able to resolve the issues he faces. I don't want to give anything away hence I’m stopping at that.
This brings me to my main rhetorical question. Why do we want to be just like them? Is it that they are almost god like or how time and again they save others. I will begin to look at this just like how some including myself believe in Jesus who was a "savior" figure. Seeing this makes it a key point that we all like or want to be the one saving others from death or the destruction of all human exists. All superhero's in some way seem to be righteous in how they carry-out the plan of saving those who are and aren't worth saving. The nature of these character’s like "Iron Man & Batman “saving the less fortunate is pulling at us. They stand for justice and the willingness to die for the betterment of man. All those things play a factor in why do we want to be" just like them."
