"Courage is being scared to death but saddling-up anyway." - John Wayne
Many things in life scare us. Facing a new position in life, needing to stare down someone or some situation that is filling us with dread, or even dispelling some rational or irrational fear and then deciding to push ahead with our lives anyway. The list is immense and virtually endless. The thing to remember is that there is nothing in life that we cannot face but none of this means that you're not going to be filled with fear over it!
I was recently reminded yet again about the vast constructs of fear and how it can so easily stall any of us in our tracks simply because we choose to allow it to glue our feet in place and to cage us. Everyone in their own way holds some understanding about this feeling while some hold much more intimate understandings about the ways that their fears have kept them from moving forward.
Nothing and nobody ever said that life was or ever could be a cake walk although I must admit I never really understood the concept of walking on top of a cake. What I do understand intimately however is how fear can work its way into people's daily lives. I have met souls who have had their paths almost or virtually stalled because they were so fearful of leaving their homes, or facing someone, or a new situation down that could alter their paths to much better ends. I've also encountered and witnessed souls who somehow regardless of any odds expressed the ability to punch their ways through incredible walls and then they walked their ways to some form of success

“I want to lead in my job”
“I want to lead in my business”
“I want to lead in my work”
Do we have what it takes to lead? At home or work, there are people who lead and there are people who follow. People generally want to be a leader. However, the question is: Do we have what it takes to be a lead?  Here are ten attributes of a leader:
1. Courage:
A leader is courageous – No one would like to follow a person without courage. Non-courageous leader cannot lead for long!
2. Self control:
A person who cannot control himself / herself cannot control others
3. Justice:
Can a leader be unjust? Can he / she treat some people one way and some people other way?
4. Definiteness of decision:
A person who leads is steadfast in his / her decision.
5. Definiteness of plans:
Successful leader must plan his work and works his plan. It is also said: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail!
6. Habit of doing more than paid for:
A leader has courage to deliver more than expected from him / her. People who deliver what is expected of them are, generally, followers.
7. A pleasing personality:
A careless person cannot be a leader. Followers will not respect the leader who does not has a pleasing personality.
8. Sympathy and understanding:
A great leader understands people. He / She understands problems of people and strive to find solution.
9. Mastery of details:
A person who is not keen on details cannot hold the leadership position for long.
10. Willingness to assume full responsibility:
The successful leader assumes full responsibility of work done by his / her followers. If one of the followers fail, leader considers that he has failed! If a person in the team is successful, leader give full credit to that person for success and celebrates the team work!
So, do we have what it takes to be a leader? Share your thoughts

Superhero's

Wanna be just like them?
I have recently seen "The Dark Knight Rises" and "The Avengers" two times not for the thrill of it but because of the powerful meaning behind the characters. The picture I have above are that of my favorite two Superhero's "Iron Man" & "Batman" both have similarities in nature but also good contrasts. I won't compare and contrast in this blog article but I will mention a few here and there.
You have wealth in both cases of these hero's and don't really care they have "money to blow". Even though one is self-absorbed aka Tony Stark but yet, both think of the other people on the earth. They want to save others even if it comes at the cost of losing their lives to achieve such a goal. Bruce Wayne exemplifies this in the last installment of the "Nolan Trilogy". He always has felt the need to protect Gotham from itself. In "Rises" he realizes it's better to have lost and have that feeling of now knowing things can still be lost which helps motivate him more. He uses to just relay on his anger to defeat the "bad guys".  Now with that improvement he is able to resolve the issues he faces. I don't want to give anything away hence I’m stopping at that.
This brings me to my main rhetorical question. Why do we want to be just like them? Is it that they are almost god like or how time and again they save others. I will begin to look at this just like how some including myself believe in Jesus who was a "savior" figure. Seeing this makes it a key point that we all like or want to be the one saving others from death or the destruction of all human exists. All superhero's in some way seem to be righteous in how they carry-out the plan of saving those who are and aren't worth saving. The nature of these character’s like "Iron Man & Batman “saving the less fortunate is pulling at us. They stand for justice and the willingness to die for the betterment of man. All those things play a factor in why do we want to be" just like them."

Failure

I know its a weird topic but hang in with me here.

Most of your life people or certain events happen that either push or pull you away from trying your hardest at something you are aiming at. I know the feeling all to well. For example a lot of people play sports and try as hard as they can to become better. They constantly strive to reach the goal of being the best or being a big sports star. These ideas are more of a fantasy then a reality for most. Some do achieve it but for the efforts of most seem to be in vain. So that brings us to the question of trying. Why try if you know, you wont succeed. Im not just talking about sports like I used as an example but anything we have our minds set on.  It takes a toll on everyone when trying that takes a different form but is summed up by this one word... FAILURE!
Everyone has that fear of failure in some sense of life. Hiding it or pretending it isn't going to happen can make that feeling of not reaching a goal all the more difficult. Not all objects placed in a persons way can be moved by simply determination or trying your hardest to over come. I like to think it is only moved or overcome when someone or something helps a person out when they have lost all hope of overcoming that obstacle.
Alot to destroying failure comes from the will of a person and whether they are strong enough to take it head on. This is just one of many factors in taking or overcoming failure. I dont wanna go into detail every angle one can face fear but will always has something to do with it. Not technically in the usual shapes and forms we always see. I never have questioned or doubted that will is one of the most powerful things and sometimes the hardest to break when put in very difficult situations.Thats why failure i think can be overcome in most circumstances.

Why cant you included soccer in the Olympics? If there is basketball and a whole bunch of other sports already in it.. why not soccer? Soccer has more followers on the earth, plus there is a world cup dedicated so  many countries can compete against one another. Basketball is important don't get me wrong but the Olympic games were created to unite countries through athletic feats. With that in mind it makes sense logically to have a sport as widely popular as soccer to be in it.
I know that if you include soccer the other question people will ask is why not this sport or that sport. It would be difficult to include every sport and just throwing it in to satisfy a single country isn't the idea of the games. Like I said before the games are a place to unite and compete in very popular games. Letting games that are popular is my key argument here, cause such games like soccer are in that category.

Why is writing so hard for some people and others it comes so easy? I can meet a stranger and strike up a conversation and hold it for at least 10 minutes.Im excluding the fact they might be busy which might not allow them to talk more in depth. Bu the fact is I can just think of things up to talk about and keep the conversation going, not allowing it to become stagnant. Ideas flow through our heads all day yet we don't think of putting it on paper or making the idea something heard. ( not verbally technically).I know sometimes it comes to me that i can just type for days but some days it wont happen that way. I don't know if its the way I was taught to write or what.. I have tried different ways of writing a paper and they don't cure the problem. Writers block seems to be so hard to over come. Finding something and running away with it may look easy to people on the outside. You are the one trying to form something while giving them the privileged to analyze the idea you are putting down on that piece of paper. I wish it is easier to cure writers block by not wasting your time on it. That time wasted could be used writing something creative and elegant. Letting the reader see your point of view on a topic or critical thought you may have or share with someone. Writing is great but it makes things every now and again hard to deal with. Im trying to say is that the complexity of it can be bother some.
